The house, built of local stone, is set within a secluded olive grove on the edge of the hill village of Paleokatouna. The views of the mountains, Ionian Sea, and many islands are spectacular, especially as the sun rises. The thriving port town of Nidri, with restaurants, bars, shops and boat hire, is less than 2km away.
There are three bedrooms in the main house (with the lower floor bedroom accessed externally) and two in the guest house. In the main house, the large living and dining room has high raftered ceilings, sofas arranged around a fireplace, and a dining table seating up to 12 guests. The decor is traditional, with lots of deep brown wooden furniture, burnished floorboards, and tiled floors with colourful rugs.
The infinity pool is positioned to take full advantage of the sea views and is surrounded by a good-sized terrace with lots of sun loungers and umbrellas. By the house, there's an al fresco dining table and stone barbecue and an outdoor lounge with cushioned rattan sofas. A boule pitch and Giant Jenga keep guests entertained.
You'll find here a wide selection of tavernas and restaurants, as well as shops, bars, clubs, water sports and boat hire. The best way to enjoy the area is to hire a boat and explore the coastline and neighbouring islands. Agi Nikitos on the west coast is a nice place to visit with lovely beach and lots of tavernas. A visit there could be tied into kite surfing just outside Lefkas town. Alternatively, Vasiliki offers some of the best windsurfing in the Ionian. We also recommend a day trip to the west coast to the famous beaches of Porta Katsiki or Egremni Beach, accessible by 400 steps or private boat.
