The vast estate cascades down the hillside to the azure sea below, with a unique glass-panelled lift to transport guests to the villa's jetty. From every level, panoramic views of the channel between south Corfu and the Greek mainland can be admired. The unrivalled level of service here matches the outstanding design and location, with dedicated staff on hand to ensure a spectacular stay.
Throughout the property, attention to detail is indicative of a designer's eye - a backdrop of honeyed hues, pale wood, and milky stone that sets off the eclectic mix of furniture, furnishings, and artwork. There's a grand piano and telescope in the living room, stand-alone sea-view bathtubs in each of the two master suites and a huge pair of antique doors reminiscent of an ancient baronial home. The light-filled rooms are spread across the main house and guest suite, with six bedrooms (all with terrace access), convivial living spaces and appealing additions, including a mosaic-tiled Hammam, gym and cinema room.
There's an al fresco dining area on the upper levels, two outdoor lounges, a well-stocked bar and a splendid two-tiered swimming pool connected by a waterfall. There are plenty of places to relax on sun beds, a cushion-lined Cabana for a drink in the shade, a pergola-covered yoga area and a deck with a Jacuzzi. Stone pathways wind down to a hillside sunbathing area and a decked platform by the sea below that. From here, you can take a dip in the sea or set off by boat to explore the island's coastline.
Kaminaki beach can be reached on foot in less than 5 minutes, following the coastline. There are some great hikes into the pine-covered hills behind the village, and many beaches are within easy reach. It's just a 10-minute drive to the white pebble beach at Barbati, a popular beach with numerous beach clubs. Agni, with some of the area's best restaurants, is also close by. Kassiopi and St Stephano are vibrant little harbour towns about a 20-minute drive away and have a good selection of restaurants, boutiques and bars with teenage-friendly nightlife. A trip to Corfu Town is highly recommended to explore the charming UNESCO-registered old town, with its Venetian architecture, ancient fortress, narrow streets and wealth of shops and restaurants.
