The nearest airports are Avignon, a 40-minute drive, or Marseille, a 70-minute drive. Once you’re settled in to the villa, take a stroll up the hill into Lacoste, a fascinating village steeped in history. Wander the cobblestone streets, where Medieval architecture mingles with contemporary sculpture, winding your way up to the 11th-century chateau, once the home of the infamous Marquis de Sade. Beyond Lacoste, there are many delightful hilltop villages to discover, with superb markets where you can sample the renowned local produce.
Arriving at the property through its beautiful gardens, this luxury residence is instantly welcoming. Dating back to the 18th-century, the house has charming traditional features: outside, dove-grey window shutters sit against natural stone walls; inside there are rustic wooden beams and cosy furnishings. Thanks to its superb restoration, it also benefits from all modern comforts too, including a large, semi-professional kitchen, luxurious bathrooms and Dyson bladeless fans in all rooms. On the ground floor, the kitchen leads to an elegant sitting room and dining room. There is one double bedroom with an ensuite shower room on this floor, and a twin room with ensuite bathroom just a few steps up. On the first floor there are a further three double/twin bedrooms, all with ensuite bath or shower rooms. Outside, there is a shaded dining area with a barbeque, a heated swimming pool, tennis court and boules pitch. Please note the property is not suitable for small children as there is an unfenced pond.
At Les Meyans, your dedicated house manager will provide a maid service five days a week. You can also request for your breakfasts to be brought from the local boulangerie and laid out for you. Additionally, there is the option to hire a chef to create Michelin-star quality cuisine in the villa’s kitchen.
