Cavo Aryatis is in a superb position on Corfu’s glorious north-east coast, a 5-minute stroll from Avlaki beach and with a short path accessing a little secluded beach. Consisting of two adjacent villas, each with a swimming pool, it’s a fantastic property for a large group, with an exceptional range of facilities on offer.
The villa has the feel of a private boutique hotel, with each bedroom being independent. Each villa has four spacious bedrooms with soft linens, safes, regularly replenished toiletries, outside access and a turndown service provided. There are enough communal spaces for everyone to get together or to spread out. In one, there’s also a fitness/yoga/massage room and a well-stocked wine cellar. Both have incredible wrap-around views and flow beautifully from inside to out.
There are so many places to relax and take in the most amazing views, with lots of lovingly tended greenery to define the different spaces and give that stamp of Mediterranean style. Al fresco dining is a must with dining areas for up to 30 outside one villa, and up to 20 outside the other. There are two gleaming swimming pools, each with a 4-poster day bed alongside, and lots of sun beds, outdoor sofas and chairs. In addition to the tennis court, there’s a table tennis court and a boules area. You can walk the path to the sea in a couple of minutes and take a dip in the sea or have a boat delivered to the jetty for a day’s adventuring along the coast.
Snorkelling equipment is provided in the house, and water sports can be arranged. There’s a golf course 38km away. Along the coast, there are many beaches and little villages to visit, many with beachside tavernas. Avlaki is the nearest beach (a 5-minute walk). There are two tavernas, with Cavo Barbaro being a local favourite. Nissaki, Kassiopi, and Agni are other not-to-be-missed waterfront stops. In contrast, you could head up into the mountains and visit Old Perithia, a ruined village built in the 14th century, largely in Venetian style. It’s a wonderful place to take the mountain air, enjoy the spectacular views, and have a drink in one of the excellent traditional tavernas.
