It stands in mature gardens, with sea views from the pool and covered dining terrace and the scent of the pines wafting in from the hillside behind. Minutes from picturesque Kouloura, with a taverna and boat hire, it’s an ideal home for a large family or group of friends.
The interiors in each are traditional and homely, with decorative painted touches and pretty furnishings. Three bedrooms are in the main house, and two are in the cottage. The cottage also has its own living area, with cushioned rattan furniture, a kitchenette, and an outside terrace. The main house has a large living room with cream sofas, a dining area, and doors to the terrace. There’s ample space for everyone to gather here.
All-encompassing the fig, lemon, orange, grapefruit, and avocado trees dotted throughout the garden. Large Greek pots and pithoi decorate the terraces and punctuate the space. There’s a long pergola terrace with a little fountain and a stone open-sided summer house with seating for evening drinks. At one end of the pool terrace, a covered dining area is furnished with a long marble-topped table and an al fresco sitting room shaded by a gazebo. The gardens have an air of tranquillity and maturity, and within a stone’s throw, you are on the beach for a swim or simply watching the boats pass by in the untouched bay of Kouloura.
There’s a supermarket and water sports 1 km away in the bay of Kalami, a charming village with a variety of shops and tavernas. Agni, San Stefanos, and Avlaki are also within 8km. Agni has a little pebble beach and three excellent tavernas. San Stefanos is a pretty fishing village with some good tavernas, cafes, small shops and teenage-friendly nightlife. You can also walk 25 minutes down the coast path to Kerasia beach, with one traditional taverna.
