Villa Itha is a special place, a sanctuary on the beautiful west coast of Ithaca.

It looks out across the sea to the Fiskardo peninsula in neighbouring Kefalonia. Designed as both a home and a pollution-free yoga paradise, it reflects the owner’s ethos of peace, relaxation, and a blend of indoor-outdoor living. There is a harmony between the house, grounds, and the wider landscape, with many secluded spots. A short walk down a footpath below the house takes you to a beautiful secluded beach in minutes.

INTERIOR

The property can sleep 18 people, with six bedrooms in the main house and two Mongolian yurts on the grounds.

The bedrooms are all en suite, and those in the main house have air conditioning and the yurts supplied with stand-up fans. The main bedrooms are each individually named and themed, decorated with furnishings from Rajasthan and Greece and inspired by travel. The yurts are light and airy, positioned high amongst the rocks and trees, with outside seating to enjoy the beautiful sea views. A separate Cave House carved out of the rocks has a modern en suite bathroom and its own outdoor space.

Within the grounds are three separate yoga shalas offering options for practising both indoors and out.

For those wanting extra pampering, a dedicated masseuse will provide treatments in a magical outdoor setting overlooking the sea (at additional cost). The retreat nestles within an olive grove from which delicious olive oil is produced, using the local press, a perfect accompaniment to your meals. An outdoor kitchen connects with a large pergola beneath traditional Rajasthani sofas, coffee tables and lanterns. On a terrace, with views of the Ionian Sea and the hills of Kefalonia, is an al fresco dining area with a long table.

Ithaca, the island home of the mythical Greek hero Odysseus, is a short ferry ride from the larger island of Kefalonia but a world away.

Small but mighty, this magical island combines a rich history with beautiful scenery, secluded beaches and gentle coves that offer solace and inspiration. The vivid green valleys and wooded hillsides stretching to the shore contrast with the richly blue Ionian Sea. Ithaca will entice those looking for traditional Greek culture, delicious local food, and the promise of perfect relaxation.
