Located in the village of Carpignano Salentino, the Masseria is just a short walk from the local shops and restaurants. The house stands within the estate’s vast ancient olive groves, which are accessed via a gated entrance, providing a very private and secure setting. Yet it is just a short drive away from sandy beaches, the Baroque city of Lecce, and the historic seaside town of Otranto.
The main house is all on one level, featuring stone floors, high ceilings, and numerous large glass doors that open into the outside space. There’s an open-plan modern kitchen, an antique oak dining table for up to 10, and a living room with a picture window overlooking the garden. Two en-suite bedrooms have direct access to a private garden. Two twin/double bedrooms can be interconnected, and they share a bathroom. The guest house is approximately 30m from the main building and would be ideal for teenagers, a nanny, or visiting guests.
A roof terrace with far-reaching views also makes it a perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks. The 10m pool is surrounded by stone paving, with plenty of space to arrange the sun loungers without feeling crowded. Further seating is arranged under the shade of a pergola; there are hammocks to relax in, a children’s playground amidst the olive trees, and a tennis court on the grounds.
A short 15-minute drive takes you to stunning sandy beaches along the Adriatic coast. Guests can easily explore vibrant Lecce, often referred to as the ‘Florence of the South’ (24 km), and the historic seaside town of Otranto (16 km), making it an ideal base for discovering the beauty and culture of Puglia.
