Sympathetically restored and with a wealth of character, the house is surrounded by walled gardens, olive groves, and orchards and has a lemon grove in the inner courtyard. With its vast pool, private chapel, and variety of atmospheric spaces, it would make a great venue for a special event or celebration as well as a memorable group holiday.
Amongst the ground-floor rooms, a large living area opens to the inner courtyard and lemon grove, the kitchen/breakfast room has doors to the east-facing courtyard, and a formal dining room opens onto the west-walled garden. One of the bedrooms is on this floor, the other five are on the first floor, and three have private balconies.
The various courtyards and terraces provide a variety of al fresco dining areas and places to sit and relax in the sun or shade. The black-lined pool, surrounded by green lawns and a stone terrace with sun beds, is a real highlight; you can swim via a canal to a large jacuzzi area for 10. There’s also a pool house with a kitchen, hammam, gym, showers and a dining terrace. This is a favourite spot to enjoy a delicious lunch.
For those wanting variety, the Ionian Sea is a scenic 35-minute drive. This tranquil estate is also close to the iconic Valle d'Itria villages—Cisternino, Locorotondo, Alberobello, and Martina Franca—all celebrated for their trulli houses, lively culture, and scenic views. Golf enthusiasts will find several of Italy’s finest courses nearby, while a day trip to Lecce, the “Florence of the South,” offers a stunning display of Baroque architecture.
