With stunning views of the surrounding Provençal countryside, this villa has been completely renovated inside and out by Atelier K Architecture et Design, creating a luxurious holiday retreat complete with an eye-catching infinity pool. The house is set within beautifully landscaped grounds filled with lavender, rosemary, ancient olive trees, and a charming fountain. Just a short walk away is the delightful medieval village of Paradou, where you'll find cafés, bistros, and boutiques. The beautiful village of Baux-de-Provence, with its striking ruined castle, is only a few minutes' drive away.
Original artworks, Italian furniture and a mix of modern and antique pieces are set against a backdrop of lime plaster, dark oak floors, exposed stonework and the use of earthy tones; the overall ambience is calm and soothing. The five ensuite bedrooms, all on the lower floor, are decorated in warm tones, with views of the mountains, four having direct access to the pool terrace. On the upper level, a spacious living room and a kitchen/dining room open onto the large upper terrace. A lower ground floor houses a cinema room (which is also a great space for kids to play), wine cellar, sauna and massage room.
At the other, a pergola shades two al fresco dining areas - the views from here are amazing. On the lower terrace, the infinity pool gleams like a mirror reflecting the landscape. Double-size sunbeds and large beanbag-style sofa seats are set out to take in the far-reaching vista. Within the grounds, there’s a pétanque or volleyball court with all necessary equipment provided. Hiking and biking trails can be accessed directly from the gardens, and there’s plenty to see and do in the surrounding area.
From the garden of the Mas, you can directly access cycling and hiking paths that weave their way through the gorgeous Alpilles mountains. Tennis, golf, quad biking and gliding can also be arranged in the surrounding area, or you could rent a boat to discover a nearby wild, sandy beach. The gastronomic heritage of Provence is felt throughout its cobbled villages, which are lined with abundant fruit markets, wine cellars and organic farms. Take a basket and explore on foot - the Mas is just a five-minute walk from the closest village.
