As the amber sun sets across the valley, you could watch the colours of the mountains turn pink from this privileged spot — nestled high in the hills, and far away from the crowds. Originally used to produce olive oil, Son Salas is now centred around a verdant courtyard, the heart of the home. The dining room still features large stone pieces from the original pressing system.
Each ensuite bedroom is equipped with local, organic toiletries. Exposed wooden beams and whitewashed walls give an iconic, rustic farmhouse feel, with white bedding and airy windows that flood each corner with sunshine. There are three kitchens—a client kitchen, an industrial kitchen for chefs/catering, an outdoor kitchen with barbecue, and two additional smaller kitchenettes in each apartment suite. A total of four living rooms provides ample space to unwind, and children will delight in the indoor games and cinema den.
There are several terraces, so you can take your pick when dining al fresco. These shaded spots are also wonderful for getting lost in a holiday read. Take a gentle stroll to the olive groves, where you can unroll a yoga mat in the private studio and welcome in the morning sun. Son Salas also has a tennis court, where Rafael Nadal has played for a photo shoot. There's also a basketball hoop, surrounded by mountain views and bathed in gorgeous sunshine.
Wind your way down mountain roads to be rewarded by a swim in the sea’s crystal waters, then stop in the town for locally made ice cream and a spot of shopping at the market. A short drive from the villa in the opposite direction will take you to Deià, a peaceful mountain town that was a much-loved hideaway of Princess Diana — known for its art galleries, hiking trails and sun-soaked terraces.
