Villa Son Balagueret is a secluded luxury villa on the western coast of Mallorca. This exclusive villa is located a few kilometres from the historic village of Banyalbufar and has plenty of history of its own: a 13th-century turret, converted into a unique bedroom. Villa Son Balagueret occupies a private spot in a rural estate, 40 minutes by car from Palma airport. En route to Palma, about 20 minutes from the villa, lies Esporles. This pretty mountain village is well worth a visit, particularly on Saturday when there’s a market selling a fantastic range of local produce. Banyalbufar is the nearest village, which has a selection of bars and restaurants and some great spots to watch the sunset. From here, there’s a wonderful walk along the coast to Port des Conange, with some impressive views along the way. There are plenty of other opportunities around the villa to explore the scenery, with trails for hiking or cycling.

The villa is beautifully designed in traditional Mallorcan style yet with all modern comforts. There’s air conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout, a sleek fitted kitchen and en-suite bathrooms for all four bedrooms. This family-friendly villa is great for active kids, with a 12m heated swimming pool and table-tennis table on-site, while the tennis court, shared with the two other villas on the estate, is just a five-minute drive away. When a little downtime is needed out of the sun, there are covered terraces, a TV and games inside.
