The nearest airport to Villa Cetinale is Florence, which is about an hour’s drive away. The country house sits just outside the small village of Ancaiano, and is 5 miles from the historic town of Sovicille. The city of Siena is an essential stop during any stay in Tuscany. Just 30 minutes by car, this medieval marvel is famous for its gothic architecture, superb art collections and tempting cuisine.

Guests approach the villa through the immaculate gardens, lined with imposing cypress trees, to be greeted by ‘Spring’ and ‘Summer’, two statues by Giuseppe Mazzuoli. Inside the house, the bedrooms are sumptuously decorated, many with rich fabrics hanging from four poster beds. A chef and team of professional staff serve breakfast, lunch and dinner to guests either in the magnificent muraled dining room, or out on the vast lawn. The property is run to exacting standards with daily housekeeping, daily pool cleaning and a laundry service. Bed linen and towels are changed twice weekly and air-conditioning is available on request.
