The house is nicely secluded, tucked into the verdant landscape, and just minutes from the shoreline. It offers serene views of the sea and mainland beyond, and the soothing lapping of the waves can be heard from the grounds. The large, sandy beach at Moraitika is less than a 3km walk—a very family-friendly beach.
The predominantly white surfaces and rustic brick floors are complemented by contemporary furniture and furnishings in shades of cream and taupe. Large sliding doors open onto the terrace from the living room and some of the bedrooms. The living room also has a dining area and a lovely fireplace. In addition to the three larger bedrooms, there’s a children’s bedroom with fun L-shaped bunk beds.
The 4th bedroom is a smaller bedroom with 2 L shaped beds, preferably for children. The master bedroom has an ensuite and the three remaining bedrooms share two bathrooms.
It’s a lovely spot with potted ferns, lanterns, a central circular stone table, and lots of seating with maritime striped cushions. Out on the terrace you can relax in a steamer chair or dine al fresco, with sea views. There’s an organic vegetable garden and a barbecue - so enjoying fresh food, freshly cooked is a must. Steps wind down from the house terrace to the pool and sunbathing terrace. There’s an outdoor shower, large cushioned wooden sun loungers and sun umbrellas. It’s a peaceful spot, away from the house, backed by large trees, and set amongst the lawn that slopes down towards the sea.
The sandy beach of Messogi is less than 3km away. Halikounas Beach, home to the island's only kitesurfing school, is a 30-minute drive from the West Coast. At Messogi, various water sports are available, including jet skiing and paragliding. There's also an 18-hole golf course and waterpark nearby. Further restaurants can be found in nearby Psaras and Boukaris, home to one of the best seafood tavernas on the island. Corfu Town is 23km to the north. It's well worth taking a day to explore this charming UNESCO-registered old town, which has Venetian architecture, narrow streets, and a wealth of shops and restaurants.
