Tramores is a spacious historic manor house. It's set within 600 acres of private woodland in the hills behind Benahavis, a traditional village renowned for the quality of its restaurants.

The area has long been strategically important, and the house incorporates the ruins of one of the historic Moorish defence towers and a more recently built guest annexe. It's a very tranquil spot, with mountainous views and lovely gardens where the owners have planted many indigenous shrubs and trees. Food is an important part of the experience here, and as much as possible, ingredients are sourced from the estate's organic farm and vegetable garden. The property is easily accessed from Malaga airport, but a helipad is also within the grounds.

INTERIOR

The interiors are filled with a mix of traditional and antique furniture.

There are paintings and prints, and lots of Moorish touches such as painted tiles, wall hangings and fabrics. The overall feel is of a warm, welcoming, elegant family home. There's a large sitting room with deep, comfy sofas, a rustic kitchen with a dining table for 14, a cosy library and seven bedrooms in the main house. Three further bedrooms and a further sitting room are in the guest house.

EXTERIOR

The terraced gardens are well established and have a Moorish feel with tall palms, rambling roses, citrus trees and some of the original irrigation streams and channels still in use.

Doors open from the house onto tiled terraces and courtyards with fountains and established planting. There are numerous relaxation and dining options, including a long table for up to 22 shaded by a wooden pergola and an enormous covered daybed big enough for several people. Two swimming pools (one heated), sun-loungers and mini-fridges, a tennis court with a shaded viewing area, a pool table, table tennis and darts provide plenty of entertainment options.

Nestled just seven kilometres from the main coastal road, Benahavis's charming and authentic Andalucian village offers a serene retreat.

Its narrow, shaded streets are lined with traditional white-washed buildings, restaurants, and bars, creating a picturesque setting. While the village is home to around 2,000 locals who embody its natural charm, it also enjoys a cosmopolitan vibe thanks to the influx of visitors drawn by its acclaimed cuisine. For those seeking a livelier atmosphere, the bright lights of Marbella and Puerto Banus, known for their golf courses, beaches, marina, nightlife, and excellent dining options, are just a short drive away.
